Melvin (Belt) Ray Hawkins, 62, Snow Hill, transitioned at his residence on Friday, December 20, 2024. A walk-in viewing will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the S. Connor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the S. Connor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor William Ingram will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Browntown Memorial Gardens in Snow Hill. 

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Harper; mother, Mary Lee Hawkins, of Snow Hill, NC; son, Nicholas Ray Taylor, of Snow Hill, NC; sisters, Mary Ann Hawkins and Zina B. Hawkins, of Snow Hill, NC; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
