James Ray, 84, Snow Hill, NC, transitioned at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro on Friday, June 7, 2024. There will be a walk-in viewing held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the S. Connor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Best Chapel FWB Church in Snow Hill. Pastor Rachel Barrett will be officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Delight Cemetery in Walstonburg. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Ray, Snow Hill, NC, sons, John Ray, William Devon Ray, Tyrone Ray, daughters, Mary R. Cannon, Vernestine R. Artis, sisters, Nina Ray, and Barbara R. Jones. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  Floral arrangements and condolences may be sent from our website to the Ray family.
