Ernest Barrett, Jr. 75, Pikeville, transitioned, Thursday, March 30, 2023 at his residence. There will be a walk-in viewing on Wednesday, April 5,2023 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Deeper Life Church Ministries in Goldsboro. Bishop Aaron McNair II, will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Barrett,  Pikeville, NC, sons, Damian Barrett, Goldsboro, NC, Walter Aldridge, Jr., Charlotte, daughters, Nancia Smith, Port St. Lucie, FL,  Stacy Farrow,  Pikeville, NC,  Rhonda Simmons, Hinesville, GA, sisters,  Deborah Jackson, Hattiesburg, MS,  Denise Barrett, Hattiesburg, MS, and  Eunice Bouie, Hattiesburg, MS. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
