Edward Lee Speight, Jr., Walstonburg, 74, died at his residence on Friday, October 14, 2022. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at S. Connor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  The funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Maury Chapel FWB Church. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Farmville. Pastor Arnold Darden will be officiating.

He is survived by his wife LaRuth M. Speight, Snow Hill, NC, sons, Derrick Speight, Greenville, NC, Tyrone Sutton, Greenville, NC, Edwin Jones, New Haven, CT, brother, Billy Ray Speight, Maury, NC,  and sister, Clara Mae Speight Dixon, Snow Hill, NC. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
