Betty Jean Atkinson, 68, of Ayden, died, Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at Harmony Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kinston. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 12 Noon at Maury Chapel FWB Church. There will be a two hour visitation before the service. Interment will follow in the Snow Hill Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Command Sergeants Major Reginald Atkinson, daughter-in-law, Melody Atkinson, both of Lawton, OK, bothers, Larry Atkinson, of Snow Hill, NC, Lorenzo Atkinson, of Ayden, NC, sisters, Diane Gorham, of Walstonburg, NC, Flora Dean Washington, of Hookerton, NC, Linda Clemmons, of Ayden, NC, Gloria Roach, Winterville, NC, grandchildren, Asia Wring, of Temple, TX, and Detlif Atkinson, of Stokes, NC. A host of other relatives and friends.
