Alverta Lee Harper Hooker, 92, of  Hookerton, NC, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at UNC Lenoir Health Care in Kinston, NC.

Visitation will follow CDC guidelines(masks required and social distancing followed) on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, from 1 PM to 6 PM at S. Connor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. (The family will be present from 4 PM to 6 PM.)

The Celebration Of Life Service will follow CDC guidelines (mask required and social distancing followed), Thursday, February 18, 2021, at 10 AM at The Lord's Table, 1215 Parkway Dr. Goldsboro, NC. A luncheon will be served, immediately following the Celebration of Life Service. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Lodge Hall Cemetery in Snow Hill. The funeral processional will arrive at the gravesite at approximately  2 PM for committal and interment services.

In lieu of flowers, please make your donations to the Star of Zion AME Zion Church, PO Box 81, Hookerton, NC. The family welcomes telephone calls, messages, and sympathy cards. Due to Covid considerations- there will be no home visits nor food deliveries, please. Thank you for your sensitivity to the family's requests.

Alverta is survived by her two sons,  Roscoe Hooker, Newark, NJ, Walter McNeil Hooker, Bellerue, NE, her two daughters, Theresa Cannon, Hookerton, NC, Vanessa Hooker, Hookerton, NC, and one sister, Doretha Harper, Washington, DC. There are a host of other relatives and friends. Please keep the Hooker Family in your thoughts and prayers.
